BLU CT has recently launched a BlipZones™ system in Kuala Lumpur International airport
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is one of Asia's major aviation hubs and is a destination in itself. KLIA is a unique airport because it has within its boundaries all that is needed for business, entertainment and relaxation. The main objective of the project was to reach out to the public in a more personalized manner without interrupting their privacy.
BLU CT presented a new solution for KLIA to consider.
Bluetooth Proximity Advertising was chosen as it included all the good qualities in advertising but with greater reach. The management in KLIA believes that Bluetooth Technology would be the next generation of technology which should be taken seriously. They feel that it is the most efficient and economical way of sending out information in a controlled environment. The secondary goal was to invite Advertisers to advertise in KLIA. BLU CT created a Mobile Application with the intention of selling advertising space to Retailers within KLIA and also to invite outside advertisers such as hotels, car rentals, F&B’s etc to advertise in KLIA as the airport has always been a premium place to advertise.
In 2009, BLU CT began the research in the airport. In 2010, the first zone was installed, quickly to be expanded further due to popularity among the management team of KLIA. The solution was expanded to include 23 Bluetooth hotspots (BlipNodes), in 5 different zones: The Departure Hall, Satellite Building, Aerotrain Waiting Areas, Baggage Reclaim Hall and Arrival Hall and BLU CT Malaysia Sdn BHD founders Mr. Patrick Theseira and Mr Ronnie Chin are pleased with the results so far.
