The Hillcrest shopping centre is situated in the centre of Pretoria East and offers a wide variety of stores ranging from restaurants, coffee shops, fast food outlets, beauty stores, clothing and health stores. They wanted to promote themselves further by attracting new store owners and more customers.
The Solution
WCIT, a BLIP systems partner and well-known Bluetooth specialist in SA, wanted to install the BLIP Systems product BlipZones, believing it would attract more customers and show great potential to new store owners.
They implemented a simple solution with a few zones in the mall and sent out lots of messages to the mall visitors – some with very lucrative offers other interesting information about events at the mail etc.
The Director of WCIT, Petros Kondos, states that the appropriate signage is deployed to ensure that the customers entering the mall are aware that they are entering a Bluetooth communication zone, where they can receive a number of specials, promotions or vouchers - just by turning their Bluetooth on. "A customer is in control of what they wish to accept from a marketing and advertising perspective and the messages to the customers are free".
The Results
Louise Muuren from Hillcrest Boulevard says "through this medium they can reach the desired target market in a very innovative and informative way". The results were very positive and beyond expectations. The installation even create some press coverage attracting new store owners, just as predicted by WCIT.
