BlipExplorer applied at the International Wireless Summit (IWS 2005)

'Live testing of the technology' was the heading of the project, which BLIP Systems has developed together with Aalborg University, CISS & the communication Agency N'volve. the project was launched and tested at the relevant Conference: International Wireless Summit, Aalborg in September 2005.

The pilot project targeted the approx. 600 participants of the conference and the citizens of Aalborg City, where the users, through their mobile phones, were able to browse through a variety of information, receive messages, special offers, transfer of sound files, video clips, chat and relevant entertainment. Bluetooth is the technology applied to offer users of mobile phones opportunities & features that they currently do not use – and without any additional cost for them.

The project began in June 2005 and began as a web registration page of the delegates interest and details. At arrival in Aalborg City/Aalborg Airport, the application was transfered to the participants mobile phones together with a welcome message. The application included the interactive programme of the Conference and relevant information about the city and the conference itself. The users also received targeted messages and updates during their stay in Aalborg city.

The data transfers took place at locations such as the Airport, the Conference centre and various Hotels such as Helnan Phønix, SAS Radisson, Quality and Hvide Hus. The updates was notfocations on changes in the conference programme, the weather forecast, news, and reminders – all depending on the information of interest to the users, which was filled in at registration.
